Misc April 2025

.

On April 1, Pro Tool Reviews, an online product review site, published a fake news article under the headline, “Home Depot to Charge for Parking to Combat Inflation.” The article stated that the company intended to “offset increasing operational costs [to] keep prices competitive” and even included (the bogus) parking fees: “$2 for up to two hours in central Florida to $5 for a full day of parking in Los Angeles.””

You can tell it’s fake cuz $5 in LA is ridiculously low … Costs more than that to park at the mall!

Cramer added that the Trump administration’s announcements and decisions are geared towards the President’s objectives and goals and not the stock market. “And I think that it’s not like you’re going to hear from the administration you know what we look at the stock market we’re going to go easy. That’s not their thing,” he said. “Their thing is to say we’ll even sacrifice the stock market to get what we want and then we’ll look to see what happens. But I have no illusions,” he added.”

“In his Times article, Clarkson wrote: “He lost the case, and the appeal, and he’s never really got over it. He still claims I was biased and that we pretended his car had broken down when it hadn’t. Even though it had. I should really have sued him back, but I feared he’d call me a paedo, so instead I just waited on the river bank for his body to float past. And now it has.””

  • Who Is Government

In Who Is Government, “Michael Lewis invited his favorite writers to find someone doing an interesting job for the government and write about them in a special in-depth series for the Washington Post. The stories they found are unexpected, riveting, and inspiring, shining a spotlight on the essential behind-the-scenes work of exemplary federal employees. The vivid profiles in Who Is Government?  blow up the stereotype of the irrelevant bureaucrat. They show how the essential business of government makes our lives possible, and how much it matters.”
